Ingredients:
100 grams unsalted butter
175 grams caster sugar
75 grams dark brown sugar
100 grams plain flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
125 grams dark chocolate
1 tablespoon golden syrup
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla flavouring
½ teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
1). Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F/Gas Mark 4).
2). Melt the butter, both sugars, dark chocolate, and golden syrup together in a pot over low heat until smooth.
3). In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla flavouring together.
4). Gradually mix the melted chocolate mixture into the beaten eggs.
5). Sieve the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, then fold them into the chocolate mixture.
6). Pour the mixture into a lined baking tin and bake for 25 minutes.
7). Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
To serve:
Serve with fresh fruit, whipped cream or ice cream. Can be served warm or cold.
To store:
Store in an airtight container in a dark area. They will last for up to 5 days.
Can be frozen by wrapping individually and defrosted well before consuming.
