INGREDIENTS:
245 g sugar
1 egg
5 mls almond extract
5 mls vanilla extract (optional)
175 mls whole milk
215 g self-raising
3 g baking powder (½ teaspoon)
115 g butter, melted
RECIPE:
1). In a medium-sized bowl, combine the sugar, egg, extract and milk with a whisk.
2). Next, add the dry ingredients and whisk again. Add melted butter and whisk one last time.
3). Generously spray two loaf pans with cooking spray or coat with butter. Fill your baking pan
with the batter and top with sliced almonds if you’d like.
4). Bake for 40 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius. If you choose to bake all the batter in one larger
pan instead of two, increase the baking time by 10 minutes.
5). Let cool slightly and top with sifted icing sugar before enjoying.
