Ingredients
Hot Milk Tea
· 1 – 2 tbsp of condensed milk
· 4-6 tbsp of evaporated milk
· 4 Lipton teabags
· Approx. 600ml water
Hong Kong French Toast
· 4 slices of thick white bread
· 2 large eggs beaten
· 2 large heaped tbsp of peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
· Condensed milk
· Butter for frying
Method
Hot Milk Tea
1. Put 4 Lipton teabags in with approx. 600ml water in a saucepan and bring to the boil and then low simmer for at least 5-10 minutes depending on how strong you like it.
2. Put the condensed milk into the bottom of the heatproof glass or mug and then pour the hot brewed tea on top and then evaporated milk.
3. Then use a spoon and stir it all up and taste, add more condensed milk if you like it sweeter (I love it SWEET) or milkier with adding more evaporated milk.
Hong Kong French Toast
1. Take the 4 slices of bread and peanut butter 2 of the slices evenly and then place another slice of bread on top. Then with a sharp bread knife cut off the edges.
2. Dip the ‘peanut butter sandwich’ in the beaten eggs and make sure all sides and edges are covered.
3. Put about 1 tbsp of butter in pan and then fry both sides first then carefully fry the 4 edges as well, use tongs or 2 forks to balance it so they don’t burn your hands!
4. Then repeat with the other egg dipped sandwich and then drizzle with lashings of condensed milk.
