Spicy Turkey Burger

Spicy Turkey Burger

Ingredients

 

  • 300 g turkey mince
  • 20 g butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 8-10 button of mushrooms finely chopped
  • 1 small apple grated (no need to peel)
  • ¼  red pepper finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger
  • ½ tsp turmeric (opt)
  • 1 tsp salt or to your taste
  • 1-2 fresh chilli finely chopped chilli
  • handful of fresh coriander and mint finely chopped
  • 3-4 tbsp corn flour

 

  • 4-5 tbsp of vegetable oil (about1 tbsp for each burger)
  • 4 burger buns

 

For coleslaw mix all the ingredients below in a bowl.

 

  • ¼ head oficeberg  lettuce head finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot grated
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp mayonaise
  • 1 tbsp salad cream
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½  tsp yellow mustard

 

Method

 

For burger

 

  • Mix all the above ingredients (apart from oil and buns) for burger in a bowl.
  • Heat a griddle or heavy base pan
  • When pan is heating, take a handful of mixure and make a patty( use more cornflour if it gets sticky)
  • When pan is hot, add oil and place patty in hot pan, cook in low to medium heat for about 4-5 min and turn and cook again for 3-4 min or until its cooked.
  • Place hot patty in burger bun ( you can toast buns in a toaster) with coleslaw and serve with chips or salad.
