Homemade Butter Chicken w/ Fresh Garlic Naan Breads

Homemade Butter Chicken w/ Fresh Garlic Naan Breads

Chicken Marinade

  • 500 g boneless chicken (thigh preferred), bite-size
  • 120 g plain yogurt
  • 15 g ginger-garlic paste
  • 10 g lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 5 g chili powder (adjust)
  • 5 g garam masala
  • 3 g turmeric
  • 10 g oil

Steps

  1. Mix everything with the chicken.

  2. Marinate at least 30 min (overnight best).

  3. Cook in pan or oven bake until cooked through


Butter Chicken Sauce

  • 40 g butter
  • 15 g oil
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 20 g ginger-garlic paste
  • 400 g canned crushed tomatoes (or blended fresh)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 5 g chili powder
  • 5 g garam masala
  • 3 g turmeric
  • 10 g honey (optional but recommended)
  • 100 g cream 
  • 1 tsp extra butter (finish)

Instructions

  1. Heat butter + oil in pan.

  2. Add onions → cook until soft (5–7 min).

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste → cook 1 min.

  4. Add tomatoes + salt + spices → simmer 10–15 min until thick.

  5. Blend sauce smooth (optional).

  6. Return to pan, add cooked chicken.

  7. Add cream + sugar.

  8. Simmer 5 min.

  9. Finish with extra butter & fresh herbs

Fresh Naan Bread:

250 g plain flour

4 g salt

6 g sugar

3 g baking powder

15 g oil (or melted butter)

120 g yogurt

60–80 g water (add gradually)

  • ---

  1. Mix flour, salt, sugar, baking powder.

  2. Add yogurt + oil.

  3. Add water slowly → form soft dough.

  4. Knead 3–4 minutes until smooth.

  5. Cover and rest 15 minutes.
