Biscuits & Honey
Ingredients:
Method:
Oven 225 degrees Celsius (450 degrees Fahrenheit).
In a medium-sized bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the centre; add milk all at once. Stir just until dough clings together.
Knead gently on a lightly-floured surface for up to 10 strokes. Roll or pat to ½ - inch thickness. Cut with a 2 ½ - inch biscuit cutter or drinking glass, dipping cutter in flour between cuts. Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Serve warm with butter and honey. Makes 10-12 biscuits.
