Red Velvet Cake

225g caster sugar

225g of plain flour

90g of butter

2 medium free-range eggs

26g of red food coloring

1 tbsp of good quality of cocoa powder

1 tsp of baking soda

180ml buttermilk

For the frosting 

125g cream cheese 

50g softened butter 

200g icing sugar 

 

Method

Preheat the oven to 180C

Line two sandwich tins with butter and parchment paper 

 

Best the butter and sugar in a bowl until creamy. add the eggs beating in slowly. 

Now sieve in the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. And beat in. Now add the red food colour and buttermilk. 

 

Bake for 25mins. Allow to cool. 

 

Now make the frosting and frost the cake and enjoy.
