Aloo Paratha

Aloo Paratha Recipe (serves 2)

  • Aloo paratha is a paratha (flat bread dish) stuffed with potato, originating from the Punjab region of
  • South Asia. It is traditionally eaten for breakfast.

Ingredients

DOUGH:

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour (Atta)
  • a generous pinch of Salt
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • ¼ tsp carom seeds (Ajwain)

STUFFING:

  • 1 1/2 cup Potato (boiled & mashed)
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp Carom Seeds
  • ¼ tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tsp Coriander Powder
  • ¼ tsp Cumin Powder
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida
  • ½ tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 ½ tsp Dried Fenugreek Leaves
  • 1 small Finely chopped Chopped Onion
  • 2 tbsp Finely Chopped Mint
  • 3 tbsp Finely Chopped Coriander

Steps

1. In a bowl add atta, salt, and water to make a dough. Give it a rest for 10 mins. For the

stuffing mix all the ingredients except ghee.

2. Divide the dough into equal balls of the size of a golf ball. Gently roll it or using your

hands spread it 3 inches in diameter. Now using a spoon, place a generous scoop of the

stuffing in the dough and close it.

3. Roll it again and dip in dry flour and roll it out flat. Heat a pan and cook on both sides.

Apply ghee (clarified butter) and again cook on both sides. Remove and serve hot.
