Virgin Media Player is available across mobile, desktop, tablet and Virgin Media set top boxes with a wide range of content for people to enjoy. Virgin Media Player has over 400,000 average monthly users*, with our primary audience being adults 25-44. (*2020 full year)
Virgin Media Player content includes catch-up of all the main programmes found on Virgin Media Television channels, as well as a large selection of exclusive online only content including binge-worthy box sets. Viewers can also watch VMTV programmes live on Virgin Media Player.
Ads run as pre-roll or mid roll on Virgin Media Player content, and can be 10”, 20” or 30” in length. Ads can also be targeted to specific shows. We are also working on some exciting new advertising opportunities and specific audience targeting options which we are rolling out later in 2021.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available on Virgin Media Player.

Sponsorship of rails on the Player
There is a new opportunity where brands can sponsor a rail of content on the Virgin Media Player.
These rails can be created bespoke to suit a brands campaign such as ‘Love is in the air’ which was created for Valentine’s Day and was filled with specific content. The sponsorship will consist of a brands colour around the shelf including the logo ‘sponsored by ‘your brand’. The brand will also receive 10” stings pre-roll ahead of the unsponsored content within that rail.
There are also a range of different boxsets available for sponsorship on the Virgin Media Player such as drama boxsets, Love Island etc.
Cost - €40,000 per month.
Pause ads are a new to market initiative. When content is consumed on the VMTV Player and paused, after 4 seconds, viewers are served a static billboard ad. The pause ad opportunity allows clients to advertise their brands when a user pauses the content. Clients can have up to Impressions and clicks can be tracked via a third party 1x1 tracking pixel and a click redirects images on rotation as part of the one campaign. This is currently only available on Desktop.
A click through URL will bring the viewers to the brands chosen site.
