Make the caramel drizzle sauce. Melt the sugar and butter together. Allow to bubble over a high heat for 1 minutes. Be careful not to let the spatter. Stir in the cream.
Line a tin with greaseproof paper. Preheat the oven to 180?.
Peel the apples. Slice each apple into 8 slices.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until combined.
Pour in half the mixture. Place the apple slices in individually. Swirl in half the caramel mixture. Pour over the rest of the cake mixture. Top with the remaining apples and bake for 40minutes.
Test with a sharp knife. Stick it in, if the knife comes out dry it is cooked. It mixture comes out sticky it is not done. Pop it back in for 5 minutes.
Cool in the tin and then transfer to a wire tray.
Serve slices warm, drizzle with caramel sauce and serve with a scoop of ice-cream.
