TV3 launches 3player, the most advanced online player in Ireland

TV3 Group today launches 3player, its next generation development of TV3 Group’s Online service. Video on demand (“VOD”) is the most rapidly growing media market. In the UK this market is estimated at £100m for 2011, up 100% on 2010 and expected to grow to over £300m by 2015 to 9% the size of the UK TV market. In Ireland similar growth trends are anticipated with the Irish VOD market in 2015 estimated to be worth in excess of €10m.

3player gives viewers a new, richer environment in which to watch the latest episodes of hit TV3 shows like The X Factor, The Apprentice, Coronation Street, Ireland AM, Emmerdale, Xposé, Tonight with Vincent Browne and many more, immediately after broadcast.

3player was developed especially to allow viewers watch TV3 content online on multiple devices such as PC’s or laptops but also in a first in this market on tablets (including iPad) and smartphones (including iPhone). Intuitive, predictive search makes finding programmes quick and easy, while 3player also boasts world-leading social media integration with in-depth Facebook, Twitter and Google+ integrations making liking, sharing and following TV3 shows as easy as possible.

With a 30% bigger screen and higher video quality 3player improves the viewer experience when watching TV3 shows online.
