TV3 announces its 2014 Christmas Schedule.

 

With movie premieres, entertainment specials and more home grown programming, prepare to be spellbound this Christmas on TV3.

 

TV3 will deliver a host of brand new programmes including ‘Tommy Tiernan: Crooked Man,’ ‘Brendan Grace Special,’ ‘The Great Irish Christmas Bake Off,’ ‘Michael Bublé: Live at Christmas,’ ‘Tommy Fleming: Live at Christmas,’ ‘Downton Abbey Christmas Special,’ ‘2014: This Was The News,’ and ‘2014: The Highs And The Lows.’

 

Christmas isn’t the same without TV3’s Irish movie premieres including; ‘Transformers: Dark Of The Moon,’ ‘Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ and ‘That’s My Boy’ plus an array of timeless classic movies including; ‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘Cliffhanger,’ ‘White Christmas,’ ‘The Shawshank Redemption,’ ‘Ice Age: The Meltdown,’ ‘Dirty Dancing,’ ‘The Wizard Of Oz,’ and ‘Close Encounters Of The Third Kind’ as well as some Irish favourites; ‘The Snapper,’ ‘War Of The Buttons’ and ‘The Butcher Boy.’

 

January 2015 will see 15 new shows and series air on TV3 with Irish content now over 50% of the entire schedule.

 

TV3 has some fantastic new programmes to look forward to in the New Year including; ‘Red Rock’, ‘The Algorithm’, ‘Broadchurch’, ‘The Restaurant’, ‘The Guarantee’, ‘Jason Byrne’s Snaptastic Show’, ‘Songs Of Inspiration’, ‘Ireland’s Oyster Clan’, ‘Donal Macintyre: Breaking Crime’ and many more.

Christmas has officially arrived at Ballymount as TV3 announces its 2014 Christmas schedule. With a festive mix of brand new home grown programming, movie premieres and US blockbusters, combined with a superb selection of Christmas Classics, the festive season on TV3 promises to be more magical than ever!

 

Christmas is set to be extra special this year on TV3 as baking extraordinaires Biddy White Lennon and Paul Kelly get set for a scrumptious helping of The Great Irish Christmas Bake Off, with presenter Anna Nolan and special guest Lisa Cannon on hand to oversee the culinary masterpieces. Multi Grammy Award-winning singer Michael Bublé celebrates the holiday season with a festive Christmas special joined by special guests Barbra Streisand, Ariana Grande, Miss Piggy and the Rockettes. Tommy Fleming is joined by a very special audience of family and friends for this seasonal musical evening at Bellek Castle, Co Mayo and St. Stephen’s night will see the return of Downton Abbey for the highly anticipated Christmas Special.

 

Prepare to be star-stuck this Christmas as Xposé Celebrity Special 2014 looks back at the biggest entertainment stories of the year from London Fashion week to The Hunger Games. You are guaranteed to be laughing all the way to Christmas with side-splitting live comedy from the comic genius we know and love, Tommy Tiernan, as he delivers some of his best material yet in a stand-up performance at City Limits Comedy Club in Cork. But the fun doesn’t stop there as the greatest Irish family comedian of our generation, Brendan Grace, proudly presents a night of pure comedy in a special stand-up performance.

 

TV3 rings in the New Year celebrating 15 Years of Ireland AM broadcasting breakfast television in a brand new special. 2014: This Was The News captures all the drama at home and abroad during twelve months which will live long in our memories. 2014: The Highs and The Lows is a look back at some of the biggest entertainment stories of the year, the good, the bad and the ugly.  Returning entertainment favourites including The X Factor: The Winner’s Story, Catchphrase Christmas Special, The Celebrity Chase Christmas Special, Celebrity Tipping Point, Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special and All Star Family Fortunes Christmas Special make a special appearance this season on TV3.

 

Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a bumper line-up of great Christmas Movies on TV3 including Irish movie premieres; Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol and That’s My Boy, teamed with the multi Oscar-winning blockbuster, Forrest Gump, the Sylvester Stallone action thriller, Cliffhanger, and the timeless, White Christmas, airing on Christmas Day; as well as some Irish favourites; The Snapper, War Of The Buttons and The Butcher Boy, along with favourite movie classics including The Shawshank Redemption, Dirty Dancing, The Snapper, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, The Mummy, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Scrooged, A Christmas Carol, Farewell Mr Cringle, The Wizard Of Oz, Maid in Manhattan, The Punisher, The Princess Bride, Spider-Man 3, X Men: The Last Stand, Matchmaker, and Evelyn to name just a few.

 

COMING UP IN THE NEW YEAR

 

As well as an entertaining Christmas line up, January 2015 will see 15 new shows and series air on TV3 with Irish content now over 50% of the entire schedule, starting with RED ROCK, the station’s brand new gritty Irish soap which will be making history as the first Irish soap to launch in 20 years. Red Rock will kick off in early January and will air twice a week.

 

Ray Foley will host a brand new game show called THE ALGORITHM, where man takes on machine in the hope of winning big money. The hugely popular THE RESTAURANT begins on TV3 this January with a mouth- watering line up of celebrity chefs and special guest critics.

 

The TV premiere of the landmark feature film THE GUARANTEE finally hits screens, telling the tale of the night that changed Irish history forever.

 

JASON BYRNE’S SNAPTASTIC SHOW promises big laughs with world class guests including John Bishop, Russell Kane and Johnny Vegas. It will have you hooked in a flash!

 

TV3 will broadcast a brand new special in January called SONGS OF INSPIRATION, plus Award-winning drama BROADCHURCH returns exclusively to TV3 with series two set to be even more thrilling than the first. Get ready for sun, sea, sightseeing and adventure this January when TV3’s fun-filled and action-packed travel series, THE HOLIDAY SHOW returns.

 

New Irish series IRELAND’S OYSTER CLAN and a brand new investigate series called DONAL MACINTYRE BREAKING CRIME concludes what will be a highly entertaining January on TV3.
