Britain’s Got Talent airs on Saturday 12th April 2014 at 7pm on TV3.
The one and only Britain’s Got Talent returns for another action packed, fun-filled series this spring with a new addition to the judges’ desk in the shape of the brand new Golden Buzzer!
The dream judging panel of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, are back on a mission to unearth the most original talent around, searching for a winning act who can entertain the nation and capture the hearts and the imaginations of the public.
Joining the judges are the award winning duo Ant and Dec, who will be presenting the hit entertainment show and guiding viewers through all the acts as only they can.
Once again the judges will be saying yes to the acts that impress and buzzing off the acts that fail to make the mark, but this year they will also have the brand new Golden Buzzer for an act they think has that extra special something.
Each judge and Ant and Dec can press the Golden Buzzer once during the auditions, giving the act on stage an automatic place in the live semi-finals, without the need for the other judges’ support and avoiding the deliberation round. With each of the judges having their own particular tastes in what makes great entertainment, the Golden Buzzer is sure to throw up some interesting choices and friendly disagreements amongst the panel!
Leaving no stone unturned the Britain’s Got Talent auditions have scoured the UK and Ireland, visiting London, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham and, for the first time ever, Belfast. Viewers can expect to be amazed and astounded by an incredible line up of acts competing to be crowned this year’s winner, from comedians and contortionists through to singers and spoon players. The lucky act who is crowned the winner in the live grand final will secure a life changing cash prize of £250,000 and the opportunity to perform at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
Britain’s Got More Talent is back for a new series and this year it’s bigger and better and ready to unleash yet more acts, antics and absolute mayhem! Host Stephen Mulhern returns for his eighth series and once more he’s at his cheeky best – asking questions that no one else dares to ask.
Britain’s Got Talent airs on Saturday 12th April 2014 at 7pm on TV3.

NOTES TO EDITOR:
Qualification Rules and Show Format
The rules are, there are no rules in Britain’s Got Talent. The show is open to any act of any age, professionals or amateurs.
Audition Shows:
The audition shows were filmed in Belfast, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester and London in front of thousands of members of the public. At the auditions, each of the four judges has a buzzer with a corresponding red “X” that lights up on the stage.
Once the performer’s time is over, the judges then vote as to whether the act should go through to the next stage of the competition. The act needs a minimum of three yeses to make it through. Although the members of the public watching the auditions do not have a vote, their reaction to the acts can sometimes change the judges’ minds.
This year contestants may for once, be hoping that one of the judges presses their buzzer during their performance with the introduction of a brand new Golden Buzzer. While contestants have usually dreaded any of the judges hitting their buzzers during their performance this year they will all be hoping that one of the judges presses the Golden Buzzer as it will give them an automatic guaranteed place in the live semi-finals – without having to go through the usual deliberation round.
During the last audition show the judges deliberate on all the acts who got a yes during the auditions and then pick their favourite 45 qualifying acts to go through to the live studio semi-finals.
Live Semi-Final Studio Shows in May (dates TBA):
There are five live semi-final shows, with nine acts performing each night. The viewing public will vote for their favourite. The act with the highest number of public votes automatically goes through to the live grand final, with the second two runner-up acts left to face the judges, who then pick their favourite between these two acts.
With four judges, there is a possibility of deadlock if the judges are evenly split on their decisions. Simon Cowell will have the deciding vote in this event. Two acts from each semi-final will go through to the live grand final.
Live Grand Final (date TBA):
Ten acts will go head-to-head for the public vote, with one act being crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent.
