THE PEOPLE’S DEBATE with VINCENT BROWNE reaches 579,000 viewers on its first night. 

 

TV3’s new landmark debate series launched last night (Wednesday March 5th).

 

Filmed in The TV3 Sony HD Studio, the monthly programme was broadcast in front of a live studio audience of approximately 170 people.

 

The two-hour prime time debate show reached 579,500 viewers, averaging 185,300 viewers with a massive 17.42% share of the prime time audience.

Hundreds of thousands of people tuned into the first airing of THE PEOPLE’S DEBATE with Vincent Browne on TV3 last night (Wednesday 5th March). The two-hour prime time debate show touted as “Democracy TV” proved a big hit, reaching a total of 579,500 people and averaging 185,300 viewers with a massive 17.42% share. The peak quarter hour (22:15 – 22:29) averaged 228,630 viewers (Individuals).

 

THE PEOPLE’S DEBATE with Vincent Browne was popular with a number of audiences but in particular with Adults ABC1 and Housekeepers, delivering a 15% share and 20.1% share respectively.

 

Hundreds of people applied to take part in the first episode of TV3’s brand new, live topical discussion programme. Since issuing a call out on Wednesday 12th February, TV3 received a fantastic response from viewers hoping to air their views as part of a live studio audience in the first debate, the motion of which was: “The Fine Gael-Labour Government deserves the support of the Irish people”.

 

TV3 has yet to confirm the motion of debate for the second show which will air on TV3 on the first Wednesday of next month (2nd April). Those interested in taking part in the studio debate are encouraged to apply via TV3.ie or via phone by calling 01 419 3525.
