In the second and final installment of this brand new TV3 special, “Crimes of passion” is the theme of Ireland’s Black Widows, featuring the stories of Hazel Stewart, Jacqueline Crymble and Jacqui Noble.

Co-conspirators, Hazel Stewart and Colin Howell devised a plan to take out their partners in a bid to be together. Cleverly, the two staged Lesley Howell & Trevor Buchannan murders to look like a suicide in 1991. Having kept their secret silent for over seventeen years, Colin Howell decided to confess and admitted to the part he played in the shocking double murder.

The greed of Jacqueline Crymble caused the death of her husband, Paul. Aware of the amount of money she would receive if Paul passed away, Jacqueline decided to do what other wives couldn’t contemplate. On what should have been a memorable date for the father of two, Jacqueline, along with her lover Roger Ferguson, stole Paul’s life from him on Father’s Day in 2004.

Contrasting the other Black Widows, Jacqui Noble led a troubled existence living with her abusive partner, Derek Benson. Having failed to escape him on numerous occasions, Noble was driven to despair and decided the only way she, and daughter Kelly, could have any chance of living a normal life would be to have Benson killed.

‘Ireland’s Black Widows’ airs Monday 18th November 2013 at 9pm on TV3.
