Sybil & Martin bids us farewell with ‘The Best of The Morning Show’.

To celebrate four and a half seasons of The Morning Show, Sybil & Martin have personally chosen some of the many highlights to share with viewers in a week of ‘The Best of The Morning Show’.

The Best of The Morning Show is dedicated to ordinary people with extraordinary stories.

The Best of The Morning Show airs all this week Monday 23rd – Friday 27th September from 11am on TV3.

Since the show came on air on the 11th May 2009, we have seen tumultuous change and extreme challenges for many Irish people. Many of those people have shared their stories with Sybil & Martin on The Morning Show.

Citizens fighting mortgage arrears and home repossession, parents battling for adequate health services for their children and individuals challenging the legal system to fight for their human rights were just some of the important news stories covered by the show from the point of view of those directly affected. The show also delivered life changing competitions for several new authors via the Write A Bestseller Competition and gave one lucky dance group from Westmeath the opportunity to perform alongside Westlife at the Cheerios Childline Concert in the O2. Not to mention some of the light-hearted and touching VTs filmed by the presenters from around the country.

Of course The Morning Show had quite a few exclusives; from Ricki Lake’s homebirth video in her Manhattan apartment, the first interview with sexual abuse whistle-blower Gerard Smyth and the only TV show to document the making of one couples placenta smoothie!

As a farewell, Sybil & Martin have personally chosen some of the many highlights from the last four seasons to share with viewers in a week of ‘Best of The Morning Show’. The shows individual mix of serious human interest stories plus lighter features with Sybil & Martin meeting viewers around the country is reflected in over 50 clips from the last four years.

What better way to say goodbye to the Morning Show with Sybil & Martin!

Some of the keynote interviews and VT features shared this week are:

Residents of Priory Hall on their fight for justice, including Stephanie Meehan who’s partner Fiachra tragically died this July. Dr Lydia Foy still fighting to have her Birth Certificate changed to recognise her change of gender after a 20 year campaign. Carer Tom Curran who is fighting for the right for his partner Marie to choose her time of dying. Kathleen Rogers, affected by the pregnancy misdiagnosis scandal. Parents of Elie Madden who had pioneering surgery in US to repair a gap in her oesophagus. Oisin McConville on his gambling addiction. Steve Collins on his families battle with the Dundon-McCarthy gang and the murder of his son Roy. Gerard Smyth who blew the whistle on the sexual abuse perpetrated by boxing coach Frank Mulligan. Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson. Meadhbh McGivern and her father Joe McGivern on the systemic failure resulting in her aborted transplant. US talk show host Ricki Lake on her home-birth.
