Homemade Seed Bread

Ingredients:

400g Brown Bread Mix    

200g Whole Meal flour     

1sp Bread Soda 

1tsp Salt              

20g Sesame Seeds          

20g Poppy Seeds             

20g Linseeds      

750ml Buttermilk               

Mixed Seeds (Sesame, Linseed, Pumpkin Seeds) for topping           

                                                                            

Method:

1.  Preheat oven to 180˚C               

2.  Grease a long bread loaf tin      

3.  Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly (except mixed topping seeds)  

4.  Add buttermilk and mix quickly by hand, do not over mix.              

5.  Ensure that the mixture is quite liquid. Add more buttermilk if required. Rather the mixture be too wet than too dry. Work quickly!               

6.  Pour the mixture into the loaf tin             

7.  Top with mixed seeds and press down slightly to help them stick and place into oven.         

8.  Reduce temperature to 155˚C and bake for 55 minutes to 1 hour. Use a skewer to the centre of the loaf to check that it is cooked and comes out clean & dry             

9.  Allow to cool on cooling rack before slicing.        

10.  Cover with cling film when cooled.
