TV3 GROUP NEWS RELEASE

THE IRISH TURN UP THE HEAT IN TV3's HELL'S KITCHEN

- Irish Singer Chris De Burgh and his Daughter, Former Miss World, Rosanna Davidson were at a Particularly Difficult Table in Last Nights Episode of Hell's Kitchen

- An Irish Man was Thrown out of the Restaurant after Complaining About the Food

- Chris de Burgh Rocks the Restaurant with a Rousing Rendition of American Pie

Tensions are rising in Marco Pierre White's kitchen and with much help from the Irish as the heat was certainly turned up high in last night's extremely exciting episode of Hell's Kitchen on TV3.

Celebrity Chef Grant Bovey revealed that he initially looked forward to being a waiter during last night's service, but quickly changed his mind.

Grant Bovey said: "I actually thought great, not a night off but an easier night and I couldn't have been more wrong."

Serving a host of celebrities, Grant admitted that he felt he had a particularly difficult table and that guest Matthew Wright had no reason to complain about his food being cold.

In the confessional, Grant Bovey said: "Table 11 was a very difficult table because we've got Christopher Biggins, Chris de Burgh, Matthew Wright, Miss World (Rosanna Davison).  They've all got big egos and you have got to massage those egos but you have to massage them without actually pissing them off.  It's like spinning plates."

During the night Christopher Biggins asked: "Can we get another one for Matthew because it's cold."

Matthew Wright then revealed:  "I'm from Croydon and even though I'm from Croydon I still have some kind of chivalrous notions and one of them is I won't eat before my lady.  I'm still waiting for her food to arrive.  My food arrived about 25 minutes ago, it looks absolutely gorgeous, the plate was cold that it was put on and now the food is cold.  It's stone cold and so it will have to go back until we can get the kitchen to co-ordinate a little better."

Taking Matthew's food back to the pass, Grant asked the team for another one and commented: "It's Matthew Wright, he's being an arse." While later in the confessional Grant said that he felt Matthew wanted something to complain about.

He said: "Matthew's lamb was cold I believe, because he let it get cold to give himself something to complain about.  Had Matthew chosen to eat his lamb when it was on his table then it would have been a perfectly acceptable temperature."

Grant Bovey said: "The most difficult thing about being a waiter, undoubtedly is being nice to everybody all the time.  I'd like to think I did okay.  I was completely charming and that's my job."

At the end of the service, former Miss World Rosanna Davison joked to Grant: "You've been a crap waiter."

Singer Chris De Burgh was so impressed with the evening that he decided to sing presenter Claudia Winkleman a song. He took to the floor with a guitar and livened up the whole restaurant with a rousing rendition of American Pie. "This is so fantastic, I'll come here again," Chris De Burgh trilled.

Maitre d' Nick Munier found himself at the centre of Marco's wrath after mistakes were made in the front of house.  After continual errors, Marco retorted: "Nick do you know something you couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery and that's the truth.  Stop allowing your ego to get in the way of your job."

Celebrity Chef Jody Latham, who had been one of the waiters for the evening, approached Nick with a problem at table two.  An Irish customer had complained that there was too much asparagus on the starter.  Perplexed and after much discussion, Nick decided to ask the customer to leave.  Stood by Nick's side throughout the fracas, Jody Latham admitted to fellow diners: "I represent Marco and I can't take things like that, that are not deemed reasonable."

ENDS.
