Ryanair signs up to major commercial partnership with TV3 Group

 

Michael O’Leary fronts TV commercial for the first time to launch new customer-friendly offers.

 

New Ryanair commercial is shot in TV3’s Sony HD Studio and fully produced by TV3

 

New Ryanair campaign launches with a 60 second spot in the mid-break of Coronation St. on Wednesday (15th January)

 

Tonight saw the launch of a new customer focused advertising campaign from Ryanair. Europe’s favourite low fares airline has partnered with TV3 Group in a new campaign which will run across both TV3 and 3e. To kick start the campaign, Ryanair took off with a special 60 second spot in the mid-break of Coronation Street on Wednesday evening.

In a first for the airline, Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary has a starring role in the ad campaign. Speaking directly to the viewer, O’Leary promises lower fares, a free second carry-on bag, and allocated seating from February 1st as well as new family and business products to come. O’Leary also welcomes Ryanair’s new and improved website and reveals further improvements are on its way, including mobile boarding passes and a new Ryanair app and thanks viewers for flying with Ryanair.

A new 30 second ad, which was shot and produced in TV3’s Sony HD Studio in Ballymount will be supported with a full “3SIXTY” approach utilising TV3’s various platforms, including digital activity across TV3’s catch up service 3PLAYER and second screen companion app ShowPal.

The campaign will also feature a weekend takeover which will see Ryanair stings on all TV3 and 3e programmes excluding those already sponsored. There will also be a number of promotional cross show giveaways across Ireland AM, Midday and Late Lunch Live, giving viewers the chance to win great getaways courtesy of Ryanair.

Speaking on the partnership, Michael O’Leary, Chief Executive of Ryanair, said:

“We are very excited at these significant improvements to our industry leading customer service and are pleased to partner with TV3 to outline these changes to our Irish customers. We are listening and responding to our customers so that they can continue to expect low fares and on-time flights, but can now enjoy reduced bag and boarding card fees, a free second carry-on bag, an easier to use website, quiet flights and allocated seating from 1st February, with further improvements to be rolled out over the coming weeks and months.”

Ryanair’s new ad campaign on TV3 is one of a number of steps the airline is taking to highlight its new and improved customer friendly approach. The ad campaign will run for two weeks, from 15th January up to 29th January.
