Interviews with ‘The Lazy Chef’ Simon Lamont available on request
This week on TV3’s The Lazy Chef, Simon Lamont is heading to Galway! The culturally thriving hub of the west may be known for its rainy days, but it’s all the better growing vegetables, which gives Simon the opportunity to showcase his veggie delight platter. Perfect for sharing, this dish may even tempt a die-hard carnivore or two…
Simon meets Flo from ‘The Gourmet Offensive’, to pick up some exotic vegetables: oriental salad leaves, mustard leaves, coriander and purple potatoes.
The Lazy Chef thinks that goat’s cheese is a go-to for any veggie meal, so he decides to incorporate it into his dish, but with a twist. Simon visits Galway Goats Farm, where, as a reward for milking the goats, he gets some goat’s Greek style yogurt and cheese. Then he gets straight to the kitchen, preparing Mix and Match Veggie Delight, Potato Wedges, Pearl Barley Risotto and Calcots Salad.
Later, after a sweet treat at ‘An Builin Blasta’, he gets back to work, rustling up a lazy chicken pasta roast that packs the flavour but cuts the time!
TV3’s brand new cookery show with a difference, sees Lazy Chef Simon Lamont travel all over Ireland, cooking exquisite meals that are quick and easy to rustle up, and this week Simon is heading to Galway. Unlike most cookery shows, The Lazy Chef will cut every corner to make effortless food, all the while showcasing some of the best produce on offer across the country. This unique programme will see Simon share his secrets to fast track delicious meals by offering tips, tricks and short cuts that will allow you to make complicated food in a simple way.
Simon’s quest for big flavours sees him meeting some big characters, all as passionate about food as himself. Since the series began Simon has been travelling the length and breadth of this beautiful island to sample the spoils of Irish cuisine, interacting with those who are dedicated to providing the very best locally made produce.
