TV3 GROUP RELEASE

IMMEDIATE: Tuesday 22nd April, 2014

Nadia reveals Bressie was the inspiration for her debut single as show gets set to launch on 3e.

Speaking to TV3.ie about her new 3e series ‘Nadia Goes to Hollywood’, Nadia reveals it was Bressie who inspired her debut single BPM, after the Voice of Ireland judge went on a Twitter rant about chart music.

Nadia also speaks about filming her music video in LA, in the same venue as Britney Spears, and why she decided to pursue a career in music.

‘Nadia Goes to Hollywood’ airs tomorrow Wednesday 23rd April at 9pm on 3e.

In an exclusive interview for TV3.ietop modelNadia Fordereveals how Voice of Ireland judge Bressie was the inspiration for her debut single entitled ‘BPM’. In a new three part series for 3e, ‘Nadia Goes to Hollywood’ documents Nadia’s journey as she pursues a career in music. We see the highs and lows as Nadia prepares to launch her first single.

Nadia describes her first single ‘BPM’ as an ‘up-tempo dance track’ about ‘feeling great on a night out’ and ‘the feeling you get when your favourite song comes on in a club’. The single is a double A side with another song called ‘Haunted’ – a ballad close to her heart which reveals the pain of her relationship  with her mum.

Recalling how Bressie was the inspiration behind ‘BPM’, Nadia said: “It’s actually kind of a funny story how I wrote it. The day that we were going into the song-writing session, we knew that they wanted an up-tempo. I was sitting on my way in, I was on Twitter and I actually follow a Voice of Ireland judge [Bressie] and he was ranting about how every song in the charts has dance, body, hot, all these, you know, typical lyrics, so I decided to write a song with every single one of the lyrics he had in that tweet. So I did and I repeated them over and over and over again. So that’s basically how BPM came around. It was a really funny session. I think that in the charts at the moment there’s music that is all about enjoying yourself and that’s what BPM is all about. It’s a fun party track and it’s contagious, I love it.”

Nadia shot the video to her debut single in LA at the same venue where Britney Spears shot her ‘My Prerogative’ video.

“The theme of the video, I actually can’t believe I’m actually talking about this right now! The theme of the video is me getting ready on a night out and kind of you think it’s during the day time but it’s actually at night. It’s just fun, it’s glamorous, it’s you know an amazing venue. There’s a lot of dancing, a lot of hip shaking and hair flipping and it was just a really cool day. It was a long day but really, really fun and exciting and I can’t wait for everyone to see the video.”

Nadia still can’t believe that she is being given the chance to pursue her dream of singing as it is something she has wanted for a long time.

“I think I’ve always wanted to challenge myself. Music and singing and performing has always been something that I’ve loved to do since a really young age and it was a hobby more than anything and then modelling kind of lead me back around to it in a roundabout way so I did Panto for a couple of years. I sang the anthem at matches and it kind of progressed from them. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be in a position to be doing what I’m doing now and I’m just a little bit overwhelmed and still shocked that I’m actually doing it myself. I’m just excited for everyone to see it.”
