24 Hours to Kill, Episode 1 airs Monday 6th January 2014 at 9pm on TV3.

Following three hugely successful series, a brand new 24 Hours to Kill returns to TV3 for a fourth series. TV3’s compelling documentary series examines a selection of Ireland’s most shocking murders, which in turn produced some of the most recognised murder trials since the founding of the State.

In the first of eight episodes, TV3 examines the case of Donegal man Gary McCrea, a cold and calculating murderer, who took the life of his estranged wife Dolores McCrea in January 2004. After years of domestic abuse at the hands of McCrea, Dolores and her daughters escaped. McCrea, overcome with rage, spent the following nine months plotting her demise, even drawing inspiration from TV crime dramas. He eventually lured her to the family home under false pretenses and burnt her remains in a waiting funeral pyre.

Opening up for the first time on television, their daughter Sharon, in a heart-breaking interview, recounts the horrific line of events that led to her mother’s tragic death. Monday 20th January 2014 will mark the tenth year anniversary of Dolores McCrea’s callous murder.

24 Hours to Kill, Episode 1 airs Monday 6th January 2014 at 9pm on TV3.
