Matt Cardle remains coy about Mel C relationship on Ireland AM.

Ireland AM airs weekday mornings from 7am on TV3.

Matt Cardle appeared on Ireland AM this morning (Monday, 4th November) to talk about his new album Porcelain but co-hosts Sinead Desmond and Mark Cagney wasted no time in getting straight to the point, and proceeded to ask Matt about the rumours doing the rounds of a possible blossoming romance with a certain former Spice Girl!

Mel C features on Matt’s new single ‘Loving You’ and also stars in the rather steamy video. When questioned about his relationship with the former Spice Girl, Matt remained tight-lipped, but it is unknown whether this was to keep the romance under wraps or to drum up a bit of publicity for their new single.

Speaking about the 39 year-old singer, Matt said he had a “lot of love and respect” for the pop star and that they were “very, very good friends”. He also retorted that “chivalry was not dead” when questioned about photographs which emerged of them holding hands.

Matt revealed that he got on really well when they met on X Factor and that he fancied her “for at least 15 years”. He said he was a fan of the Spice Girls “for very different reasons”.

A simple yes or no would have done it Matt!

Ireland AM airs weekday mornings from 7am on TV3.
