The couple have revealed what they would like as a wedding gift

With the big day only weeks away, preparations are well under way for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

With invites just sent out, anyone lucky enough to be attending the nuptials might be wondering what do you get the couple who, let’s face it, have everything.

Well the couple have made that choice rather easy for everyone and have specified exactly what they would like as a wedding gift- a donation to charity.

Prince Harry’s office confirmed the news yesterday stating that the couple were grateful for the goodwill they had been shown and "are keen that as many people as possible benefit from this generosity of spirit".

“The couple have therefore asked that anyone who might wish to mark the occasion considers making a donation to charity, rather than sending a wedding gift."

The pair have chosen seven different charities which they would like people to donate to which includes the following.

-The Children's HIV Association

-The Myna Mahila Foundation which helps women in Mumbai's slums

-The Crisis homelessness charity

-Conservation group Surfers Against Sewage

-Scotty's Little Soldiers which supports children who have lost a parent while serving in the British military

-StreetGames which helps young people and communities to become healthier and safer

-The Wilderness Foundation UK which teaches vulnerable young people from urban areas about the great outdoors.

Neither Prince Harry or Meghan Markle have formal relationships with the charities they’ve chosen.

Over £1 million was raised back in 2011 when Kate Middleton asked the public to donate to charity when she wed Prince William.
