Celine McGillycuddy, Series Producer for Ireland AM said: “Ireland AM is delighted to welcome Taoiseach Enda Kenny back to the show. With the referendum on same-sex marriage fast approaching and other issues of importance hugely topical at the moment there will likely be lots of interest from viewers in what the Taoiseach has to say. For that reason we want to give viewers the chance to contribute and send their questions throughout the morning on air and online.”

Ireland AM has seen its viewership increase hugely over the last 15 years. At its launch in 1999, Ireland AM averaged 6,500 viewers and a 6.20% share compared to an average of 56,500 viewers and a 29.93% share in 2015, year to date. The three hour breakfast show hosted by Sinead Desmond, Mark Cagney, Alan Hughes, Anna Daly and Aidan Cooney reaches on average over 400,000 viewers weekly. This easily makes Ireland AM the most watched breakfast show on Irish television.
