TV3 confirms ALL 48 Rugby World Cup games will be shown Live and Exclusive on TV3

- TV3 to launch TV3 HD in August 2015

- Keith Wood, Matt Williams, Peter Stringer, Shane Jennings, Hugo MacNeill,  Murray Kinsella and Neil Back will form the core of TV3’s Rugby World Cup  panel.

- Commentators include Stuart Barnes, Conor McNamara, and Liam Toland


TV3 has today announced that it will be the Exclusive home of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The Group confirmed today at a launch from The Merrion Hotel in Dublin that ALL 48 matches will be shown on TV3.

TV3 also confirmed that TV3HD will launch in August, and will be available on both Sky and UPC.

Joining Keith Wood on TV3’s team of analysts will be rugby coaching guru Matt Williams, Stuart Barnes of Sky Sports, former Ireland scrum half Peter Stringer, the soon to be retired Leinster flanker Shane Jennings, former Ireland international rugby union player Hugo MacNeill and legendary English World Cup winning flanker Neil Back.

Irish sports commentator with the BBC Conor McNamara, former Munster academy member and regular writer for Murray Kinsella, and rugby analyst Liam Toland, will also join Matt Cooper and TV3’s own Sinead Kissane on the broadcasting team.

The RWC 2015 coverage on TV3 will be Executive Produced by Tony Whelan, veteran of many previous Rugby World Cup television productions, and by Kieran Holden, TV3 Group Head of Sport.

Following the announcement of its panel, Niall Cogley, TV3 Group Director of Broadcasting, said: “We have assembled a team of contributors with differing views on the game but all with two things in common – they share impeccable rugby credentials and they are all excellent communicators. The TV3 panellists have different and complimentary perspectives so that our analysis segments can help viewers enjoy the games more. We look forward now to September in what promises to be a tremendous sporting occasion.”
