URGENT warning issued to Irish shoppers before purchasing Halloween costumes22nd Oct 18 | News
Be very careful
Dublin Fire Brigade have issued a warning to Irish shoppers before purchasing Halloween costumes for themselves or children.
They are urging people to think safety first and check for the CE mark before buying any costumes for the festivities.
The CE mark is the manufacturer’s declaration that the product complies with safety standard.
Shopping for a costume for #Halloween? Whether for adults or kids 🧒 check for a CE mark.— Dublin Fire Brigade (@DubFireBrigade) October 20, 2018
To be safe though, all clothing should be kept away from bonfires, candles, naked flames not just fancy dress #FireSafety @FireSafetyIre pic.twitter.com/H7s1GceHpm
They are also warning people to keep all clothing, not just fancy dress costumes, away from bonfires, candles and naked flames.
The warning comes as it was revealed that over 700 Halloween products were seized at Dublin Port last year for failing to meet EU safety standards.
