Things are now developing rapidly!

Although the Department of Education have not issued a statement regarding the prospect of school closures tomorrow, it is thought they are closely monitoring the situation as Storm Callum approaches.

However, decisions around school or road closures will be made locally rather than on a national basis.

The National Emergency Coordination Group is to be meet at 3pm this afternoon to discuss preparations and response to the storm.

Schools and business owners will be urged to keep up-to-date on the latest weather forecasts.

Met Eireann have said they are more than likely going to extend the weather warnings 'as it will take a while for the winds to abate'.

We will keep you up to date as the situation unfolds.
