Irish teenager in critical condition after falling 39 feet in popular holiday hotspot

The teenager was only in the resort a few hours when the incident occurred

An Irish teenager remains in a critical condition in hospital following a fall from a height in the popular tourist resort of Santa Ponsa, Mallorca.

Jack Walsh, from Askeaton in County Limerick, fell 39 feet from the Vista Club apartments at around 4.35am this morning.

He had only arrived in the resort a couple of hours before the incident occurred.

Local Spanish news outlet reported that this is the third incident in ten days in the region and that the causes of what happened are unknown for the moment.

It is believed a number of his family have since travelled out to the island to be with Jack as he receives care in hospital.

Local police are also investigating the incident.
