Tributes paid to Irish teenager killed in three-car crash as mum fights for her life

Tributes have been paid to 19 year old Aisling Dolan, from New Ross in Co Wexford, who was tragically killed in a three-car crash yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened on the N11 at Scarawalsh, near Enniscorthy in the county.

Aisling was a front seat passenger in a black Peugeot hatchback and was travelling with her mother Breda, 52. Her mother was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries and is said to be in a serious condition, reports.

Gardai reported:

"Gardaí are currently are investigating a fatal road traffic collison which occurred at Scarawalsh, Enniscorthy on the N11 Enniscorthy to Dublin Road.

The crash involving three cars occurred at mid-day on Tuesday 22nd May 2018. A woman in her late teen, a front seat passenger in a car, was fatally injured.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by the Garda forensic collision investigators, who are at scene. Local diversions are in place."

A friend told the Independent:

"Aisling touched all our lives so much and we are completely heartbroken."

A van and a pick-up truck were also involved in the collision but both drivers and passengers escaped serious injury. They were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Local Sinn Fein councillor Johnny Mythen said he was shocked to hear of the tragic accident.

He said:

"It's a tragedy for the family involved. A lovely fine day like today and their whole life has been turned around."
