Gardaí on HIGH ALERT for suspected paedophile targeting young girls on the Luas

An alert has been to every Garda station in Dublin following claims that a suspected paedophile targeted four teenage schoolgirls on the Luas in Dublin.

Gardai are reviewing CCTV footage of the Luas after four approaches were made towards teen girls travelling on the green line from Sandyford into Dublin city centre over the past month.

In the most recent allegation two weeks ago, one teenage claims she was the victim of a sexual assault after a man put his hand up her skirt. According to The Sun, the man had been loitering outside stops on the Green Line and made the approach to the young girl before she screamed and raised the alarm.

A source told the Sun:

"These incidents are being treated as serious and that’s why an alert was sent to every station warning gardai about these approaches to schoolgirls.

The man’s image has been circulated in case there are approaches on other Luas lines and gardai will be maintaining vigilance.

If people are concerned about approaches being made to them, they should contact the gardai immediately.”
