Met Eireann have said temperatures could hit 20C in Ireland over the weekend, meaning Ireland is expected to experience the hottest day of the year so far - FINALLY! This is all thanks to a hot air front being brought in from Africa.
A spokesperson for the National forecaster said:
"The temperatures have finally improved, and they will stay up there.
We're pretty certain they will hit 18C on Thursday. There will be very little wind on Thursday and Friday.
On Friday, the temperatures could go higher, to 19C and 20C."
General: Temperatures above normal for a time and rainfall below normal. Turning fresher early next week.
Thursday night: Misty overnight with fog in places. Lowest temperatures 4 to 8 degrees.
Friday: Mainly dry with sunny spells. A few light showers also in west Ulster and north Connacht.
Top temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees. Quite cold Friday night. Lowest temperatures 2 to 5 degrees in slack breezes.
Saturday: Becoming warm and humid, with top temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees. In the afternoon and evening, these temperatures will set off some heavy showers, with a few thundery downpours possible. Heavy showers continuing for a time on Saturday night. Lows of 9 to 11 degrees.
Sunday: Becoming cooler with sunny spells and showers.
