Luas explains strange SMELL on trams after multiple complaints5th Mar 18 | News
The new Luas Green Line services have caused a lot of controversy in Dublin in recent weeks, with commuters complaining of traffic issues at College Green. However, passengers now have another complaint - a very strange smell!
This morning Luas bosses were asked on Twitter what the smell was in one of the trams with one commuter saying it smelled like "natural gas".
It doesn't appear to be the first time that a passenger questioned the smell either:
@Luas Carriage 5028 is emitting a strong smell of gas, can you investigate?— Beej (@Beej24727835) February 26, 2018
A Luas spokesperson quickly responded:
"We can assure that this is not gas, the smell on the tram is due to the fact that it is a new tram and will dissipate as the tram beds down."
