Well this is surprising
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and whether or not you buy into the idea of the dedicated day of romance, it looks like a lot of other Irish people do.
New research conducted by Circle Pay, Europe’s only borderless social payment app, discovered that the average Irish adult spends around €56 on a gift for their significant other.
Married people tend to go that extra mile when purchasing a gift for their spouse spending €68 on average on their other half.
The research also found that Irish adults both single or in a relationship, go on an average of 16 dates a year (which is pretty impressive if you ask us), with married couples managing 24 dates on average a year.
The survey also revealed that 44% of Irish people splitting the bill at the end of the first date with 60% splitting it if the date goes badly.
Most people go on two bad dates a year and 10% even admitted to going on dates for free food.
Now that’s just grim…
