Ireland braces itself as snow-ice warning is issued for the ENTIRE country

Met Eireann issued a status yellow warning last night.

Last night Met Eireann issued a status yellow snow-ice warning for the entire country which will come into force later today.

It’s the third status yellow warning issued by Met Eireann over the past few days with two status yellow wind alerts in place for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry for today (Wednesday) and Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry for tomorrow (Thursday).

And now Met Eireann are predicting icy conditions with up to 3cm of snow in some areas on Thursday and Friday.

They are forecasting north, northwest counties and areas on higher ground to be the worst affected but the entire country is at risk of snow.

The warning kicks in at 4pm today and lasts 24 hours.

Drivers are being urged to slow down during the bad weather.
