Hot water bottles at the ready!

Irish weather forecaster Met Éireann are forecasting widespread frost in the east of the country tonight as temperatures are set to plunge to freezing!

Forecaster Liz Walsh told The Irish Sun:

"There’s a cold front coming tonight after the heavy rain is gone.

It will be very cold tomorrow afternoon with temperatures reaching between 7 to 9C.

There may be hail showers in the west of the country with a risk of thunder also.

There might be a dusting of the white stuff on top of mountains but that’s it.”

Met Eireann wrote on their website:

“Largely dry at first tonight in eastern areas, but heavy and persistent rain in the west will transfer eastwards overnight, with low cloud and mist.

A clearance will follow from the west later in the night as the gusty southerly winds veer northwesterly and ease. Lowest temperatures 3 to 5C.”
