Two more people lost their lives over the weekend while attempting to carry out repairs after storm Ophelia and storm Brian

Two men have lost their lives while carrying out repairs to damage caused by ex-Hurricane Ophelia and storm Brian.

A man in his 50’s died after falling from the roof of a shed at Kilgarriff outside Clonakility in Cork.

He was said to be using a teleporter machine when he fell and suffered fatal head injuries shortly before 2pm.

A second man, in his 70’s, also lost his life in Co. Wicklow after falling from a ladder.

The incident took place at around 3.30pm on Saturday in Kilmacanogue in Wicklow.

They are the latest lives claimed by Ireland’s treacherous weather in the past week.

Last Monday Fintan Goss, Michale Pyke and Clare O’Neill all lost their lives in tragic circumstances at the hands of storm Ophelia.
