Are you a bride-to-be on a budget looking to kit out your bride tribe in style? Or a maid of honour tasked with finding her own frock for your BFF’s big day?

Finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses can end up being harder than deciding on the wedding dress itself, because you’ve got to find a style that everyone is happy with, not just the bride.

Unless you happen to have a set of quintuplets accompanying you down the aisle, that means a colour that suits everyone’s hair and skin tone, and a shape that flatters a variety of figures.

Add to that a price cap and it can seem like an impossible task – but bridesmaid dress shopping needn’t be a headache.

Why? Because there are so many amazing options now available from our favourite high street brands.

As wedding costs continue to soar (the average couple spends £27,000, according to a survey by Hitched), retailers are offering affordable bridal collections, so you can style your ‘maids in on-trend designs without going way over budget.

So what’s hot this year? Pink is by far the most popular colour choice.

It’s a hue we’ve seen a lot of on the red carpet recently, and what’s great about pink is that everyone can find their perfect shade, from blush to rose to fuchsia.

Bardot and halter necks are big news (the Duchess of Sussex’s second wedding dress continues to inspire designers), but if some of your girls want a bit more coverage, you can usually find the same colour dress with different necklines.

Similarly, if you can’t decide between maxi or midi length for your ladies, brands like Dorothy Perkins and Little Mistress offer some frocks in both.

And finally, remember that you don’t necessarily have to shop from the bridal section.

There are silky slip dresses in a whole host of colours in the spring/summer collections that would make perfect bridesmaid outfits – try Topshop or Superdry for simple but beautiful bargains.
