This Saturday's Ireland's Got Talent has it all!

22nd Feb 19 | Entertainment News

We meet a mother and son duo hoping a ‘second chance’ at life will give them their first chance at stardom.

Ireland’s Got Talent continues this Saturday night, 23rd February at 7.20pm with another nine acts all hoping they can impress the judges on Ireland’s only variety stage.

This week we meet Jake Lanigan (21), a rapper from Donaghmede in Dublin who cites Eminem as a big influence. Jake’s original rap will recount the difficult time he experienced throughout his teens, how he came to be where he is today and the incredible support he received from his mother throughout this time.  Born as a female, a car crash promoted him to finally decide to transition to male. Will this moving performance be enough to impress the judges?

We also meet Mother and son duo Sharon (41) and Brandon (19) Webb from Kildare. The must see duo have been singing together ever since Brandon could talk. Their audition holds special meaning for them as this is a second chance for Brandon. Last year Brandon ended up in a coma following a night out with friends. Doctors had prepared Sharon for the worst but he pulled through. The bond between this duo is clearly evident once they start to perform, will this be enough for the judges to put them through?

Also performing on the show this week is HipHopical a dance troupe with a membership that stretches from Monaghan to Louth to Cavan. With 41 members in the group they love all kinds of dance, but Hip Hop is their passion. They already have a famous fan in the shape of Hollywood super star Saoirse Ronan – her cousins are in the troupe. Can they turn our four judges into fans?
