Charlie Sheen is set to make a “revealing personal announcement” in an exclusive interview on US television.

The 50 year old will appear on NBC’s TODAY show on Tuesday morning for a sit-down interview with TV host Matt Lauer.

An announcement on their website said: “In a TODAY exclusive, Charlie Sheen will make a revealing personal announcement on Tuesday, November 17, in a sit-down interview with Matt Lauer.”

Sheen was fired from hit TV show Two and A Half Men in 2011, where he was earning a reported $1.8million per episode.

The actor, real name Carlos Estevaz, is the son of Martin Sheen. He has had numerous problems with drugs and alcohol.

He has also had several high-profile divorces, including one from Denise Richards.
