The ‘Xposé frockadvisor Awards’ will celebrate the cream of the crop of independent fashion retail.
Xposé’s Karen Koster and frockadvisor’s Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon, with some very stylish names from the world of fashion, were out in force today to launch the “Xposé frockadvisor Awards” - XFA’s 2016.
The competition awards the best of Independent Fashion Retail and invites people to nominate their own (or their favourite) independent boutique. There are 6 categories in total:
1. Best Contemporary
2. Best Occasion
3. Best Vintage
4. Best Accessories
5. Best Bridal
6. Best Online
People can nominate an independent fashion retailer of their choice in each of the six different categories by logging on to www.tv3.ie/xfa. The closing date for nominees is 22nd of December.
A total of 18 nominees (3 per category) will be shortlisted in January with all finalists appearing on Xposé to showcase their business between February and April, before the winners are chosen and announced on 26th May 2016, as part of frockadvisor’s Fashion Independents Day. The nominees will be judged by fashion editors, writers, stylists and bloggers Corina Gaffey, Bairbre Power, Suzanne Jackson, Annemarie O’Connor and Grace Cahill.
Fashion Independents’ Day celebrates independent retail stores. Fashion lovers are asked to get out and support their favourite independent boutique by simply calling in to see what surprises are in store, meet the people behind the stores and experience the ultimate in customer service. Each participating frockadvisor retailer will offer added incentives to shoppers. Consumers can download the free frockadvisor app for updates on local retailers participating in the unique event!
Brendan Courtney of frockadvisor said: “Xposé and frockadvisor are the perfect partners for this initiative as they both champion independent boutiques every day. The XFAs now let people nominate their favourite boutiques for an award. This is about helping community based, small businesses to get recognised and thanked for all their hard work.”
