It’s International Women’s Day and the theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Press for Progress’ – everyone, male or female, is urged to ‘think, act and be gender inclusive’.
Around the world, thousands of organisations are already working hard to end inequality for women and you can help them reach their goals by shopping one of the fashion and beauty ranges launched to mark the annual event, from cool slogan tees to classic red lippie.

Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge, £22
The full RRP (less VAT) of this multi-purpose cream pigment, in a lovely, suits-all pink, will go to Smart Works, the charity that provides clothing and interview advice for out-of-work women in the UK.
Elizabeth Arden March On Beautiful Color Lipstick in Red Door Red, £22
Elizabeth Arden has announced a new female empowerment and fundraising campaign called March On, in partnership with UN Women. The mark the launch, 100% of the proceeds from a limited edition lipstick in bright Red Door Red, modelled by brand ambassador Reese Witherspoon, will go to the organisation which champions women’s issues worldwide.
Boohoo Sasha Woman Hoody, £20
Boohoo has created a sporty white T-shirt, sweatshirt and hoodie range featuring a bold red ‘woman’ slogan on the front. Prices start from £16, with £5 from each sale going to the Wonder Foundation, which works to advance education and equality for young women and girls around the world.
Elemis Limited Edition Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, £110
This limited edition version of the cult classic face cream, which is worth £164, comes in beautiful marine-inspired packaging illustrated by accessories designer Karen Mabon. Elemis has pledged to donate £35,000 from its sales to Women for Women International.
Plus, for every message posted on social media by the end of today showing support for women in conflict zones with the hashtag #messagetomysister (and tagging Elemis) the brand will donate an extra £1 to the charity.
Missguided MakeHerStory White Slogan T-Shirt, £18
Missguided has produced a four-piece collection of T-shirts and a hoodie with female-centric slogans, donating 8% of profits to the Girls Out Loud Foundation. The accompanying campaign stars 33 inspiring women from diverse backgrounds.
Rebelle X Plan International
Looking to make space in your wardrobe for new season purchases? Designer resale site Rebelle lets you sell second-hand items and donate the proceeds to charity partner Plan International’s ‘Because I am a Girl’ education campaign. As part of an ongoing commitment, Rebelle will donate the service fee and commission for each sale to ensure Plan benefits from 100% of the revenue.
Lipsy Crown Your Queen campaign
You don’t even have to buy anything to get involved in Lipsy’s International Women’s Day activities. The fashion brand wants women to share photos on Instagram of their ‘queen’, the woman who supports them the most, adding a crown emoji and the hashtag #crownyourqueen. For every post, Lipsy will make a donation to mental health charity Mind.
