Bellápierre Mineral Make-Up Review

Make-up can clog our pores and cause unsightly blemishes – especially if we aren’t removing it properly. We all know it, yet many of us wear it daily regardless. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t feel comfortable leaving the house unless I have my foundation (and eyebrows) on at least.

Having talked about the success of my new skin care routine last week (I’ve been using Acne Out products from Biofresh Skincare) I had good look through their website and discovered they stock a mineral make up range called Bellápierre. Bellápierre uses 100 % pure Mica Powder with no other additives or ingredients whatsoever.

I was always a bit sceptical about mineral make-up. I’ve tested a couple of brands and always found the coverage wasn’t good enough or that they wore off during the day. I decided to pop into the Biofresh Swords store at the weekend and have a look at the Bellépierre for myself. (I had never actually been in – my sister has been picking me up the Acne Out products when getting her own).

There I met the lovely owner, Catherine, who talked me through the vast range of products they stock and kindly did a make-up demo on me. I’m quite pale, so she used a little bit of BB cream to start, followed by the Ivory Compact Mineral Foundation, and the Mineral Bronzer to contour. I couldn’t get over the coverage. The make-up completely evened out my skin tone and left it looking flawless and dewy. Sold at first glance!

I tested out some lip-sticks and eye-shadow too, and was surprised by how pigmented they were and how well they went on. The colours available are gorgeous.  Catherine assured me that all of the products are completely natural and non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog my pores or damage my skin as other make up can.

She also said I should be using cream to remove my make-up (rather than washing vigorously as I prefer to do!) I was recommended the Yogurt of Bulgaria Probiotic Cleansing Milk followed by the Rosewater Toner. I was worried about being left with a residue on my face after the cream but using the toner afterwards leaves it completely fresh and clear.

I left the shop with everything I need to get me started (pictured below) and I’m popping back in at the weekend to have full  make-up done for a night out by one of their trained (and talented!) make-up artists. I can’t wait! It only costs €30 and it’s a great way to test out all the products if you are thinking of switching.

Anyone looking to change their make-up or try something natural, I would highly recommend Bellépierre. The foundation lasts all day without having to be topped up and knowing the products aren’t damaging my skin is a huge incentive to keep using them!
