If you commute in Dublin then it's going to cost more for you to use Irish Rail, Dublin Bus and Luas services from today. The 1st of December traditionally sees public transport firms introduce price hikes just before the Christmas rush.
Dublin Bus cash fares will increase by between 1.4% and 5.6% for adults while adult leap card users will pay between 1.8% and 4.0% more when using Dublin Bus.
Luas fares have also increased from today but there is some good news as an off-peak city centre fare of €1 has been introduced for Leap card users.
The National Transport authority has also announced that children under five will be able to travel for free on Dublin Bus, Luas, Irish Rail and Bus Eireann.
The NTA Fare determinations come into effect tomorrow, 1st December. Using @leapcard can save up to 31% versus paying for single fares in cash!
