Here in Ireland, there are over five thousand children currently being fostered who, for a variety of reasons, cannot live with their own families.

But, whether their stay is short or long term, the benefits of having a support system like a foster family has proven to be substantial

This morning we were joined on the line by Mary Hickey, who has fostered since 2008 and Catherine Bond, CEO of the Irish Foster Care Association.
