How to talk to teens about alcohol and drugs

Conversation is key in keeping young people safe from alcohol and other drugs.

This is the message that the HSE is getting accross as they have launched a Parent's Guide which is filled with practical advice and tips on communicating with teens about alcohol and drug related risks.

So what is the right and wrong way to react if your teen comes home intoxicated?

What warning signs should you look out for?

Dr Bobby Smyth, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist from the Adolescent Addiction Services in the HSE had all the answers for us this morning.
