Sleep Expert Lucy Wolfe

Last week we spoke with tired and exhausted parents Eimear and Ger Alley. They were having trouble getting their toddler Harry to sleep through the night. Sleep consultant Lucy Wolfe spent some time with the family at their home in Laois. Here are some of the helpful advice she imparted. You can also watch the full video below..

Connective Play 

  • 10-20 Minutes 
  • Low down on the floor
  • Lots of face time
  • Let them lead the play 
  • No distractions

Daytime Activity

  • Get some fresh air
  • Lots of activity
  • 30mins in the morning
  • 30 Mins in the evening
  • Limited screen time

Sleep Friendly Enviroment 

  • No big lights
  • No unecessary distractions
  • Non-sleep time in the bedroom
  • Room needs to be adequatley dark

 

Nap Time

  • Time the nap based on the child's age range
  • Always try for one hour to help the sleep happen
