Never Home Alone campaign

It's estimated that 400,000 people in Ireland suffer from loneliness and the percentage only increases with age. How do we tackle the issue of rural isolation and ensure that the most vulnerable in our communities are looked after?

The students of Eureka Secondary School in Country Meath saw how this growing epidemic was affecting the elderly in their community and set up a new social innovation called Never Home Alone.

Joining us to tell us more was Nora Barry, one of the students involved and Michael O'Connell who has benefited from the project.
