In 2015 Lucy Dineen's world was shattered following the sudden death of her 25 year old son Robert.
In an effort to address their grief Lucy and her husband undertook a gruelling 1000 kilometre trek over 38 days on the Camino De Santiago.
In her book 'My Camino Through Grief', Lucy reveals how the pilgrimage helped her reunite with her husband and come to terms with the passing of her son.
Lucy explained, “There were two reasons I wrote this book. Firstly I wanted to pay tribute to a wonderful son. Robert also expressed a wish to help others at one point in relation to his own health issues ad raising awareness around mental health. Writing this book about his illness and our own grief just seemed fitting. After he passed away so many people reached out to me to let me know how much Robert helped them through difficulties. It was fitting to keep that alive by writing this book.”
