Congenital Heart Defects

Congenital Heart Defects are the most common of all birth defects, affecting one in every hundred children born at present in Ireland.

As it is Congenital Heart Disease Week, voluntary support group Heart Children Ireland, is today warning that hundreds of young lives are at risk at the Mater Hospital Adult Congenital Unit due to a lack of funding and services.

To find out more about what this means for those at risk we are joined by Siobhan Quinn who was born with CHD and Siobhan's cardiologist at the Mater Hospital Professor Kevin Walsh.
